Zwaremachine (USA) – Minneapolis’ own fully realized industrial worship. With an eerie hum Zwaremachine embraces early EBM, cyber and dark-synth soundscapes while keeping a persistent live band approach. With a clear focus on classic sounds and modern production they describe their style as “Minimal Hypnotic Industrial Body Music.” Influences from some of the top acts of the early Industrial and EBM genres can be heard in the songs on “Be A Light” the first full length album released in 2018 by Phage Tapes.
The band was formed with the intention of being a live trio combining sequences and performances. Each one of the members whether human or hardware will become part of the pulsing and oscillating heavy machine in the live setting. With the addition of live bass guitar and drums Zwaremachine can project a depth of force and aggression that was not anticipated but is very welcome on the stage especially these days.
In 2019 founding member Mach Fox was joined live by bassist Dbot who had played synthesizer and electronic drums in an earlier Zwaremachine lineup. They played as a duo for several shows in the US to promote “Be A Light” and European shows were being booked for the fall. In September 2019 Zwaremachine again performed as a duo with Dutch drummer Dein Offizier joining Mach Fox for several shows and festivals in Europe. The trio of Mach Fox, Dbot and Dein Offizier last performed together on stage in Hameln Germany on October 20th 2019.
A trip to the Netherlands in January 2020 allowed Mach Fox to record Dein Offizier drumming for the upcoming album tracks he and Dbot had been writing together back in the US. In February and March there was a track collaboration planned between Mach Fox and Darren Corri which quickly turned into the Zwaremachine – Ripping At The Fabric EP which was released by Brutal Resonance Records in May. That release was followed with the re-release of “Be A Light” (Special Edition) on Sliptrick Records in June 2020. The Special Edition version contains select remixes and an additional track “Remain Unseen” which is the first studio track with Dbot on bass guitar.
In December 2020 the band released “Conquest 3000” Single Mix/Remix EP and that has both live members Dbot and Dein Offizier featured in both the recording and video for the single.
Zwaremachine released their second full length album “Conquest 3000” July 17th 2021 as CD & digital on Phage Tapes.
