The superb Spanish Rainover

Biography:

“The music of RAINOVER consists of grey, intense, and emotional dream-rock with a modern approach to both composition and sound and still with a dark edge: a story of constant research and renewal through life, of cycling movements that are at the very core of the universe and each one of us, connected as a whole, just like the rain as it falls down and dies, to ascend again.  The band was firstly founded in 2003 under the name “Remembrances”, coming from Murcia, Spain!”

Rebirth

Tis is rather an unassuming track that edgily makes its way forward with a deep coaxing and when Andrea starts to sing you realise that this woman has the voice of a true angel. The heavy forthright rhythms balance with true imagination and work in tandem to become a real epic encounter.

Despair

The angelic soft tones float on a dark bed of spine chilling rhythms that awaken the senses with sheer beauty. Its melodic temptation is helped along with terrific harmonies and agitated beats – making it another elegant track with equal amounts of epic glory.

Cycles

A converge of classical strings, deep bass hooks and Antonio takes over on vocal deployment. The melodic swagger stands out along with a levelled temperament of keyboard and once again the angel takes over and the surge begins sending goose bumps up your arms. Superb track!

Rain over My Tears

Another beautifully executed track that weaves its special magic incorporating angelic tones and solid rhythm. The compelling presence of this track is momentous and dramatic with classical/gothic undertones in its vastness.

H2SO4

A rather lively track that leaves its classical tones behind, be it briefly as they are never too far away, but this track holds a darker and raw appeal. It stomps into view and demands the limelight with an overwhelming magic!

Oh, My Cross

This track engages its electronic keys to full capacity and then floats down to an eerie depth which includes a gravelly harmonic quality. It stalks and parades itself with dignity while working over the senses in a brutal fashion but still remaining in control.

An Ocean between Us

The icy chills are prolonged with a stark keyboard intervention while Andrea’s voice glides effortlessly into view. It engages thoughts and imagination with its fiery cavalcade of thrilling heartfelt rhythms that pulsate with pure gothic energy.

“The only thing wrong with this album is when it comes to an end, because one listen is just not enough to quell the hungry appetite!”

Rainover

Dust and Dawn

Is a keen and rampageous track that harvests a deep bounce of overwhelming rhythm and spectral dominance, launching itself into the audial with a brisk keyboard intervention. It is a real spiritual journey.

Hopeless

Once again as the ghostly voice of Andrea washes over you, it sends ice like chills down the spine and equally so when Antonio’s growling harmonies compliment the ensemble. It is all consuming and powerful.  In an angel meets demon fight!

In Free Fall

Swiping back with an electric keyboard opening, it calms to allow the vocal mesmerisation to appear like an eerie apparition. The celestial heights are reached in a single note. It is tempered by a feverish guitar and heavy drum beats.

Remembrances

Reminds me of water washing over a desolate shoreline as it gains momentum and quickly surges towards the dunes. It holds plenty of imagination which echoes throughout the whole album.

Summary:

Rainover are not just your average gothic metal band, as each track tells its own story by a heavenly voice and a demonic entity that inter weaves with vibrant keyboards and staggering guitar.

Each song is just as thrilling as the last. The epic proportions of rhythms are collectively balanced with gothic and classical moves that are executed with dignity and total appeal.

This album should not remain in the dark as it has more than proved its distinction which can only be attributed to the fantastic calibre that has been executed in its entirety on all eleven tracks that flow seamlessly with no jagged edges.

From the moment play is activated Rainover are in full control, igniting the bonds that bind with intellect and spellbinding endeavour that never leaves your side until of course when fate decides and the end is in sight.

There simply is nothing that can be deemed ‘ordinary’ about this breath-taking insight into another world, shaking up the imagination with dramatic effects and posing an elegant menace deep within its magical layers.

The only thing wrong with this album is when it comes to an end because one listen is just not enough to quell the hungry appetite. Stunningly superb!
