Summon: How did the band get started?

Nate: Glen and I have been friends for several years. We met on Facebook because we had the same interests in music. Glen requested that we jam out and see where things went and we wrote 3 demos. Not too long after that, we wrote our first album “The Isolated and the Antagonist”.

Summon: What kind of music do you play?

Band: We play a mix of industrial, death metal, progressive metal, dark electro.

Summon: How has the band response been?

Band: The response has been incredible. People are really loving the vibes and the old skool style that we brought back.

Summon: Where did the band name come from?

Nate: The band name came from Glen who was deployed in Kuwait at the time. I felt like I was isolated and as the metal head in the unit just always felt my attitude was that of antagonizing or provoking things. So I just said Isolated Antagonist and Nate loved it.

Summon: Introduce the band members.

Nate Gradowski: I play the instruments, write the music, and do the clean vox.

Glen Mitchell: I write the lyrics the story and do the aggressive vocals.

Summon: Tell me about some the songs on the latest CD?

Nate: Musically, some songs are very dark sounding, some are heavy, some are epic.

Glen: Void was the first track we put together from this album and to us it sound sonically so different from the previous album. We tried to keep our style of attack in the sounds, along with pushing the atmosphere. You hear Death metal influences in songs like Dark Nomad, and gather the past, while at the same time you have our instrumentals like into the dark and spoken work “affirmation of entropy” that try and show a different side and style to what we like to play and what we like to hear.

Summon: Do you have any side projects?

Nate: I have my own solo project called “Demise and Domination” I was doing this before Isolated Antagonist.

Glen: Not any more I am usually only in one project at a time, I am a busy person as is without the music. I am writing a book to go along with the concept story of the album so that takes up a bit of time too.

Summon: Who are some of your musical influences?

Nate: Geoff Tate era Queensryche, Devin Townsend, Fear Factory, Gary Numan, Godflesh, and Sepultura.

Glen: Fear Factory, Iron Maiden, Megadeth, Queensryche and tons more. Music, lyrics have to say something to me they need to speak to my heart or my mind I love well thought out lyrics and songs which Is why I focus on those bands.

Summon: Which current bands?

Nate: I’m all over the place haha.

Glen: Fear factory, Mortiis, The Browning, I love my heavy aggressive stuff.

Summon: What is the band like when you play live?

Band: I’ll let you know when we play.

Summon: What is the scene like over in your country?

Nate: I really can’t answer that. Its different everywhere. Every state is different.

Glen: It’s very diverse, pockets of music and styles everywhere, do we fit into a scenes now, not that I am aware of, I just like to do what makes me happy.

Summon: What made you want to be in this band?

Nate: It’s a child hood dream of mine.

Glen: Music keeps me sane, and I wanted to make the music I miss hearing.

Summon: And if you weren’t in this band what would you being doing now?

Nate: Drowning in my sorrows wondering what I’m gonna do in my life lol.

Glen: Everything I do I do with a passion because its what I love. I am currently doing computer forensics and security when I am not in the band and its fun and interesting for me.

Summon: What does the future hold for the band??

Nate: Play, Write albums, Play, Did I mention play?

Glen: Keep making music we have a story to tell and that story isn’t done we hope to get it to as many mediums as possible and we hope people enjoy and see how insane the story actually is.
