Crimson Moon: How did the band get started?
Chris: I formed the group in 2009. I wanted to start a stoner rock / proto metal group. I had some riffs that didn’t fit stylistically with the groups I was playing with. So I got some like minded dudes together and we started jamming. That version of the group lasted through recording one album up till 2011 when band members started to leave the group for various personal reasons. As members would quit I would find new guys until I ended up being the only original member. The current lineup has been together since 2013.
Crimson Moon: What kind of music do you play?
Chris: I guess you could call it Sword and Sorcery rock. We have some doomy metal elements, but with more of a 70’s / early 80’s vibe.
Crimson Moon: How has the band response been?
Chris: It’s been great. People really seem to dig songs about dragons and wizards.
Crimson Moon: Where did the band name come from?
Chris: Before the group started, my wife talked about starting a group called Blue Unicorn. I loved that name, but being a Star Wars fan the name Blue Snaggletooth came to mind. Blue Snaggletooth is one of the rarest original Kenner Star Wars action figures. The figure was supposed to be short with a red jumpsuit. The blue variant is tall with a blue jumpsuit and was only released in a very limited number through a Sears store exclusive play set.

Crimson Moon: Who writes the music? Lyrics?
Chris: Casey and I write most of the music. I write most of the lyrics. The band arranges and finalizes the songs.
Crimson Moon: And where do the lyric ideas come from?
Chris: The ideas come from all over the place. Allot of the lyric ideas come from movies, comic books, and fantasy books.
Crimson Moon: How many albums/CD’s have you released?
Chris: We’ve released 2 albums. Dimension Thule and our latest Beyond Thule. Both albums are only available on vinyl or for digital download.
Crimson Moon: Tell me about some the songs on the latest CD?
Chris: The first song on Beyond Thule is titled Reptiles. It’s about the Reptilian Shape shifter conspiracy popularized by David Icke. The second song is Sleeping Mountain. It’s about a mythical beast or entity that lives under a mountain that would cause mass devastation if it were ever to awaken.

Chris: Joe and Casey have another group called Wild Savages.
Crimson Moon: Who are some of your musical influences?

Crimson Moon: What is the band like when you play live?
Chris: Four dudes rocking the fuck out. Sometimes we have a psychedelic light show.
Crimson Moon: What was the best band you played with?
Chris: We really enjoy sharing the stage fellow Michigan rockers Bonehawk, Bison Machine and Beast in the Field.
Crimson Moon: Have you guys ever played in another country?
Chris: Not yet.
Crimson Moon: How big of crowd shows up at shows usually?
Chris: 50-100.
Crimson Moon: How is the crowd response when you play?
Chris: People dig it.
Crimson Moon: What is the scene like over in your country?
Chris: It’s an underground thing. The kind of music we play is popular but not mainstream by any means.
Crimson Moon: What made you want to be in this band? And if you weren’t in this band what would you being doing now?
Chris: I started the band to play the kind of music that connects with my soul. If I wasn’t in Blue Snaggletooth I may not be playing in any band right now.
Crimson Moon: What does the future hold for the band??
Chris: New releases for 2015, more shows!
