Crimson Moon: How did you get started?

Gia G: I started playing Guitar when I was 17.

Crimson Moon: What kind of music do you play?

Gia G: Well in my solo project GIA G, it can be anything from shred guitar to blues to fusion, jazzy, metal, acoustic, classical, new age, a mix of everything. My band Devil In the Mist, it’s Alternative Metal.

Crimson Moon: How has the fan response been?

Gia G: With the new EP Cosmic Wave my biggest response ever, the old stuff also has to in both projects, but this went o the next level.

Crimson Moon: How many albums/CD’s have you released?

Gia G: I have released 4 EP’s full releases, since 2002 till present. Another 2 that were fully released, 2 EP’s with my original old band Torque 2002, 6 song, 2003, 3 songs, then in 2008 did a redone version of the second one but was never fully released. In 2010 released a 6 song EP with my band Invain, but never fully released totally either. Then went solo with GIA G in 2012. Released the single and music video The Chase, which turned out to be huge success over 930,000 views on YouTube video, tons of airplay. In 2015 released another single and music video with GIA G called Interwoven, also did very good on YouTube with 420,000 views. In 2016 I got back together with my old singer from Invain to release songs we didn’t release from that band. Released song and video Severed Ties got tons of airplay and music video earned over 630,000 views. We followed up with another single and music video in 2017, Somewhere which turned out to be the biggest song and video with which would be called Devil In The Mist, tons of airplay, hit #1 on KB Radio in Canada for 2 weeks in 2020. Music video is my biggest to date still with over 1.3 million views. In 2018 we released 3 song EP, with another new song Fargone with music video, 3 songs on it were Severed Ties, Somewhere and Fargone. In 2019 I released 2 singles and music videos, single Secret and video with Devil In The Mist and the single and music video The Ladder for my GIA G solo first release with GIA G since 2015. It was also the longest song I ever released 6.10 sec, and video. Video got huge response which still is doing good, over 530,000 views. It was my 3rd song and video I released with GIA G Secret, was the 4th song and music video released with Devil In The Mist, one of my favorites with that band, did very well too. In 2020 both Devil In The Mist and GIA G got sighed with Sliptrick Records. The first release was the 5th song and video Mercy which would be the last with Devil In The Mist with that singer. This Year I released my 4th EP and first with GIA G “Cosmic Wave” and first EP through a label and Sony Orchard, with 2 music videos. Cosmic Wave which has done amazing both the single and music video, single went #1 at KB Radio in Canada and other charts hit the top 5 and 10. The EP has also hit the top 10 and 5 in many charts, and debut in low top 100 on billboard. The second single Reminiscing and music video has also hit the top in charts and the video is doing very well. It is tough releasing 2 music videos so close, the 3rd song is called Intrical Fusion which is also dong well I haven’t actually pushed it yet as single and won’t be doing video to many for an EP.

Crimson Moon: Tell me about some of the songs on the latest CD?

Gia G: Sure the EP is called Cosmic Wave and the first song is named that as well. It’s upbeat, groovy track, with great runs, tapping, whammy bar, harmonicas and great vocal lead runs very catchy. Second song is Reminiscing . A acoustic Slap song with really nice vocal lead runs, and a great feel, bluesy lead, probably my best feel and phrasing lead ever. 3rd song is more of a fusion mix of rock, blues, jazzy, pop with jazzy modes used, very technical pull off lead runs, a lot of bluesy leads, and super crazy whammy bar going on.

Crimson Moon: Do you writes the music? Lyrics?

Gia G: Yup I write all the music, and some lyrics.

Crimson Moon: And where do the lyric ideas come from?

Gia G: Sometimes I pick up where the singer idea came from or I have my own idea from my own music.

Crimson Moon: Has the Covid Pandemic impacted you at all?

Gia G: No actually it hasn’t.

Crimson Moon: Do you have any side projects?

Gia G: I also do lead guitar work for a metal Band In NH called Infinite Sin and I do studio work in my studio for my engineer Richard Marr at Galaxy Park Studio.

Crimson Moon: What is the music scene like where you are from?

Gia G: It’s so so.

Crimson Moon: Who are some of your musical influences?

Gia G: Many from Elvis, Van Halen, Jeff beck, Joe Satriani, Metallica, Iron Maiden, Led Zepplin, Queen, The Beatles, The Eagles, DIO, list goes on.

Crimson Moon: What is the mood when you play live?

Gia G: Nervous in the beginning but then I settle in and I want to stay up there longer. LoL.

Crimson Moon: Have you ever played in another country?

Gia G: Actually no, I have had many offers to.

Crimson Moon: Do you do anything special warm-ups you do before you play live?
Gia G: Yes exercises, stretching, picking exercises.

Crimson Moon: What made you want to be a musician?

Gia G: Just fascinated with music.

Crimson Moon: As a musician what advice can you give to fellow musicians just
starting out?

Gia G: Don’t think your going to be a big star, do it cause you enjoy playing.

Crimson Moon: What does the future hold for you?

Gia G: I just take it day by day.
